Stefan Snijders and François Le Bars, two personalities from the shipping world, left us in August.
UMF wishes to salute their memory, and to trace here the outline of their courses.
1952 : Birth in the Netherlands.
1973 : Starts in the shipping industry as a « water clerk ».
1985 : Joined SOGENA.
Career in Jakelson in Marseille, then in Sealiner, agent of MSC.
1993 – 2015 : Managing Director of MSC France in Paris.
2012 – 2014 : President of Syndicat national des agents maritimes (Snam) - National Federation of Shipping Agents.
2018 – 2019 : President of Via Marseille Fos (VMF).
François Le Bars
1931 : Birth in the Yvelines.
1955 : Joined Charles Le Borgne company.
1962 - 2000 : Creation and management of several businesses in Marseille : Agence maritime méditerranéenne (AMM), Transcausse SA, Société Trailer and Container Service Industry (TCSI), Agence maritime William Eltveldt, la Franco-Suisse de consignation, Société maritime internationale (SMI).
1996 : Involved in the creation of Seayard, port handling.
1980 : Member of CCI Marseille Provence, then Vice-président (1985 – 1988), and Président (1988 – 1991).
1990 – 1999 : Administrator, then honorary vice-president of the Port of Marseille-Fos.
1993 : President of AACN (local association of shipping agents and consignees).
2003 – 2008 : President of the Supervisory Board of MGI.
2003 – 2006 : Member of the Superior Council of the Merchant Marine.
