NVOCC = non vessel operating common carrier

The NVOCCs buy maritime transportation capacities, which they then provide to their clients under their own responsibility (they set the bill of lading in their name).

They recruit freight and often proceed with bundling and unbundling (the goods of several clients included in the same container).
