Trainings

The UMF is referenced as a training organisation, which enables you to be included in the professional training funders’ reference catalogue, hence to benefit from public or matching funds.

 

1. The Port Synergy

Objectives:

  • Enable the development of a common corporate culture for everyone, regardless of companies or professions.
  • Increase the understanding between professions so that everyone knows better what the other does and what are the other’s constraints and operational needs.
  • Share a common image of the quality of service.
  • Establish a gateway between jobs, ease career development and job mobility
  • Enhance the global collective performance

 

2. The dangerous goods trainings

A. Stuffing security Code CTU

Objectives:

  • Provide a specific training for the staff in charge of stuffing or emptying the containers, as required by subsection 1.3.1.2 of the IMDG Code and chapter 13 of the CTU Code (Cargaison in Transport Unit).
  • Increase awareness of the staff about the conditions of carriage in maritime transport, so they can realize the importance of the quality of their work.
  • Be able to check by calculation if the adopted ways of lashing are sufficient to oppose the moving forces, considering the variables mentioned by regulations.
  • Become aware of one’s responsibilities as well as of the responsibilities of the other operators, so as to be able to stand for the company’s interest during and after loading.

Program and methods:

Teaching methods in use: theory lessons, presentations, practical exercises, and indoor demonstrations.

Type of training action (in accordance with article L.6111.1 of Labour Code:

The intended actions fall within one the categories provided for in article L6111.1 of Labour Code: adaptation and development of qualifications, promotion, prevention, acquisition, cultivation or refinement of knowledge.

 

B. Amendment 39 renewal – Recycling

Objectives:

  • Review of the IMDG Code
  • Knowledge of changes that occured between Amendment 38 and Amendment 39
  • Expertise in the IMDG Code – Amendment 39 and navigation through the documents on a daily basis.

Program and methods:

Teaching methods in use: theory lessons, presentations, practical exercises, and indoor demonstrations.

Type of training action (in accordance with article L.6111.1 of Labour Code:

The intended actions fall within one the categories provided for in article L6111.1 of Labour Code: adaptation and development of qualifications, promotion, prevention, acquisition, cultivation or refinement of knowledge.

 

C. In-depth knowledge of the IMDG code – Initial training

Objectives:

  • An “in-depth knowledge of the IMDG Code” in accordance with chapter 1.3.1.5. of the IMDG Code
  • A solid knowledge of the local regulation governing the terminals of Marseille and Fos
  • An expertise in reporting dangerous goods in multiple systems of information
